Jrue Holiday is sitting pretty right now after the Boston Celtics’ NBA championship victory.

The Celtics officially took home the NBA title with a win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night. It was the 18th total championship in Boston’s franchise history as well as the second career championship for the Celtics guard Holiday (who already won it all with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021).

There was some added sweetener for Holiday as well. Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported on Monday that Holiday cashed in on a $1,183,200 bonus in his contract with the Celtics winning the title.

Per Bobby Marks of ESPN, this was apparently the sixth contract bonus that Holiday earned with Boston this year, bringing his total incentives secured to $2.8 million (in addition to his roughly $35 million base salary).

The six-time All-Defensive selection Holiday proved to be a crucial puzzle piece for the Celtics this year. He averaged 14.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in the Finals (on a magnificent 54/42/100 shooting line) and made the effort plays on both ends of the floor that put Boston over the top.

Holiday, 34, was not exactly happy about being traded away by the Bucks last summer. But it is safe to that everything ended up swimmingly for him in Boston (though his wife was done a little wrong in the Game 5 clincher).
