Cameron Young on Saturday accomplished something that few others in the history of the PGA Tour have ever done.

Young shot a 59 at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands on Saturday, only the 13th sub-60 round in tour history. The -13 score made him co-leader before the top of the field had even teed off.

Young’s incredible day included seven birdies and two eagles. He received a big ovation from the gallery when he finished the 18th hole with a par putt to seal the accomplishment.

Scottie Scheffler was the last PGA Tour golfer to break 60, shooting a 59 at the second round of the 2020 Northern Trust in 2020. Jim Furyk still holds the record for the best round in tour history with a 58 on the same course in 2016.

Young has achieved a hole-in-one at the US Open before, but this is probably his new career highlight. He may never achieve a round like that again.
