Hasselbeck, a 3-star quarterback from Xaverian Brothers in Westwood, Mass., committed to Michigan State over the summer. He later reopened his recruitment and also considered Boston College (where his father was a star quarterback) before deciding on UCLA.
The younger Hasselbeck said the connection he felt with Chip Kelly and the potential to run Kelly’s offense are the primary reasons he chose UCLA.
Henry Hasselbeck on selecting UCLA: “I really connected with the school and the coaching staff. Coach (Chip) Kelly is an amazing man and the players talk so highly of him. The connections I made with coach and his staff was amazing and the offense they run is incredible.”
